Confidentiality

We understand that some submissions may contain commercially sensitive information. To support entrants, guidance will be provided on how to describe projects and operational improvements in a way that protects proprietary detail while still demonstrating the value and impact of the work.

This may include black-boxing exact technology solutions, using a standard confidentiality disclaimer for internal review, and explaining how to present costs, incremental value, and performance improvement appropriately.

Sensitive information to consider

Entrants should be mindful of including information that may be commercially, operationally, or strategically sensitive, including:

  • Operational performance data, such as production rates, uptime, downtime, yield, throughput, or efficiency metrics
  • Commercial information, such as pricing, contract terms, supplier arrangements, customer or offtake details, and margin information
  • Plant-specific process details, such as exact process conditions, catalyst or packing details, control logic, proprietary configurations, or equipment sizing
  • Safety and risk information, including incident details, HSE event data, vulnerability exposure, or security-sensitive information
  • Project delivery detail, such as internal approval processes, budget breakdowns, vendor selection rationale, schedule slippage, or sensitive lessons learned
  • Strategic or future-facing plans, including expansion roadmaps, debottlenecking plans, decarbonisation strategy, investment pipeline, or site development plans

Costs and incremental value

Where cost information is included, entrants should:

  • Present figures at an appropriate summary level
  • Focus on the value delivered by the project
  • Explain any incremental benefit in a way that is meaningful without revealing sensitive commercial information
  • Avoid disclosing detailed pricing, proprietary economics, or other confidential contractual information

Confidentiality notice

This submission may contain commercially sensitive information and is provided on the understanding that it will be treated in confidence and used only for award assessment purposes. Access will be limited to those directly involved in the review and judging process. Entrants should ensure appropriate internal approval has been obtained before submission and should clearly identify any information they consider confidential.
